……To the Scottish Highlands! What a massive year it’s been. New house, new locations. Big skyscapes! A fresh perspective, by the sea no less, from the peninsula at Onich enjoying the views which sweep down the Loch towards Mull.
We’ve spent the Summer settling in to this fantastic area with its rich mix of wildlife; White tailed Sea Eagles, Otters; one day an Osprey cruised overhead! we’ve been delightedly exploring the mountains and glens of the Highlands, plus the stunning beaches from Ardnamurchan to Arisaig.
One of our best days has definitely been Ben Nevis. From the seemingly endless slog up Cearn Mor Dearg, along the ridge the views get increasing dramatic and far reaching. Its not often you get lucky enough to have the Summit to yourself but that’s exactly what greeted us after scrambling up the last few metres of rocks, just like crunchy stickle bricks at the back of the Ben. We had twenty minutes of perfect late afternoon sun as we investigated the summit and carefully peered over into the gullies, some of which still have packed snow neve from last season. There’s so many happy photography days waiting out there.
Roll on the Scottish Winter – the gear is ready to go!
