A wild and stormy day on the Scafells. In late afternoon the clouds began to be torn apart by a gale force westerly wind. Just time to scurry over to Ill Crag and set the camera up as light flooded into the remote valley of Upper Eskdale. On days such as these it is helpful to have particular locations in mind, a mental image map, waiting to be realised should the conditions allow. This is one such place which we had looked at several times – just needed the right conditions….
