In the depths of an abandoned quarry near Tilberthwaite we find a landscape rich with interpretive possibilities inviting narrative- do we see rock, angular shadows, an angular rock-‘face’?; mouldering decay or redemptive reclamation? These places are compelling, repelling and often quite haunting.
