Forest Snow
Dusk and heavy snowfall give the woodland above Dob Gill a mysterious atmosphere; somewhere between foreboding and fairy-tale.
These kinds of images are all about an immediate emotional response, corners of the Lakeland landscape which one might walk past on most days of the year and yet at the right time and in the right weather can become places of deep emotional resonance; compelling our attention and engaging our imagination. On days such as these one is very much aware of the ‘Genius loci’, or spirit, of the place.
