Spring can often be fickle in the Lakes. Thick cloud enveloped us on the slopes of Brund Fell and cold rain was quickly followed by heavy sleet. Freezing mist blew around us for an hour before rapidly clearing to reveal fresh snow above the Seathwaite Valley. A passing blaze of sudden sunlight briefly lit the fields of Thornythwaite as mists rise above Seathwaite Fell.
