After many days of fine and dry weather the stable air becomes dense with atmospheric haze. Tree silhouettes stand out against the raking light of the setting sun, streaming through distant valleys on this sultry late spring evening. The photograph was made from Tom Heights, above Tarn Hows, and looks out over a shoulder of Holme Fell towards Langdale.
